Paint by Number – Adult zen?

Hi Friends!

Jerry gifted me a paint by number for Christmas and of course as projects go this one went a little forgotten… OOPS. nothing says Christmas like “here do some tedious work to make a master piece.” All jokes aside I really enjoyed the process, I did it in a few large chunks and worked about an hour and a half at a time! Fancy adult paint by number later I finished my cute custom Totoro! Oh and I ended up mixing my own acrylic paints because the paint included in my kit dried after my failure to use them in a timely manner… but upside I altered some blues and green to ones I preferred!

I started by painting the larger sections, which happened to be a lot of blues for the sky and water
Then I went in and filled in greens
more green details and then I added the little girls details
doing the outlines was a little nerve racking but really did help to pull the whole painting together
At this point I could have called it done but being extra crafty I decided to go back in a “blend” the colors a little better, I remixed some medium color scale paints to go over some of the harsher places
Here’s the finished Project! It honestly makes me so happy – and hangs above my desk! I’d highly recommend a paint by number, it’s nice to have the freedom to get creative without the pressure of messing up! Let me know if you’re planning on a project like this, and make home fun!

XO,

C

Oh, I guess this was a legit fancier Paint by number kit as the canvas was an actual canvas! The company that made it is called DIY Painting – available on Amazon!
